In our previous class, we learnt about principles and theories in CALL. Then, we were introduced to a simple yet stunning software, named as Hot Potatoes. It's not a type of food, pardon me. Well, I never heard of it before so I guess many of you also heard about it for the very first time. The software is free to download and very useful for teaching. This is Hot Potatoes.
There are many applications for us to choose. This time, we picked on JCloze. It was really fun as we do hands on activity on JCloze. So, once we know how to use the software, we were assigned to produce one ESL exercise by using JCloze.
Above is the article I have chosen for my exercise. I pick an entertainment article on "Gangnam Style". I think it is fun yet simple. Also, currently it is a phenomenal around the globe. The focus of this exercise is Grammar, concentrating on adjectives. I put 10 answer gaps with time limit of 7 minutes.
This is the product..

My opinion about Hot Potatoes:
1. It is a very interesting software. Also useful for teachers that it helps us to make English exercise becomes much easier. With the software, You just pour you content and it will do the rest for you. Very convenient as it saves time for work.
2. It has many types of exercise for us to use. Very practical to use and not complicated. It does not required long time to learn and master the skills in using this software. We can have fun and be creative with the software. We can make it colorful and more interesting by putting selected designs and colors.
3. It is free. It only costs me internet bill but for anyone with free wifi, this software is free for you. I would love to use it especially when I have my practicum on the next semester. It is something that every English teachers should try and bring it to class.
4. Fun and exciting. I don't feel burden in using this software or when developing the exercise. I can do it quickly and enjoy the time.
That's all from me,
Goodbye bloggers~
